“Open Relationships Have Conditions!” A Commenter Cried. Here’s My Reply.
*arrangements* have conditions. Unconditional love, by definitions, has no conditions.
Forget about the ‘title’ “Open Relationship”, which is a title that has no meaning… Instead think of the fundamental aspects of a worthwhile, happy and fulfilling relationship, of which there are 3:
1. Unconditional love
2. Nonjudgmental acceptance
3. Open communication
Remember, *arrangements* have conditions. Unconditional love, by definitions, has no conditions.
So in your relationship/s, forget about what title you give it, CAN you facilitate those 3 fundamental things that make for a great relationship?
1. Do you want for their happiness regardless of your involvement?
2. Do you accept them for who they are without judgment and resentment? In other words, do you accept that they’re male and will do and think and desire male things, or that they’re women and will do and think and desire women things?
3. And can you openly talk about it, COMPLETELY transparently like you would a best friend?
Those are your considerations and as you consider it, regardless of any misconceived hangups you have about it, there’s only one format of relationship with people that can facilitate that, an “open” one.
